TRAINING PROGRAM
We work with our colts daily-moving, sorting, and hand feeding. You can't touch them, but, you can handle them. At 3, we load them in the chutes, brush them and handle their heads. When they are comfortable with it, we buck them for the first time with a dummy and a light, soft flank. We feel that we can get a good idea of how these horses will perform (see pictures below). If they get in the air and kick over their heads, they get a one year vacation. If not, a retry every 30 days or a bus ticket. At 4, we use them lightly at college practice. At 5, we rodeo. At 6, we want you to buy the good ones. The only way to keep good cowboys coming to your rodeos is to have good stock for them to get on!
BREEDING PROGRAM
Many years ago I asked Harry Vold how to consistently breed top quality bucking horses. His answer, "When you figure it out, call me and let me know." His advice, breed the best to the best.
Our stud, #608 Fair Deal (Justin Boots Skoal x Lundstrom's Original), we believe is as good as there is out there. Our mares are proven and have been through the fire. Our colts buck!
